Summertime at Woodmere is a time for art, gardening, movies, fun, and, of course, water balloon fights. Inspired by fairy tales and stories we love, children will create unique outdoor sculptures to be installed in Woodmere’s Children’s Garden. Each week a new story will be the genesis of a magical project. Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland will inspire a massive deck of cards, Gulliver’s Travels will arouse the need for giant flowers, Anansi: The Trickster Spider will inspire large magical spider pots, and a house made of sticks will work fine for The Three Little Pigs. Children will have the opportunity to learn about our butterfly garden and get their hands dirty as they discover nature. After hours of joyful labor, children can relax and watch a movie.
