Location
Historic cobblestoned Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia, is a gracious setting for Woodmere Art Museum. Once the private home of Charles Knox Smith and his eclectic collection of paintings, sculpture, European decorative arts, oriental rugs and more, the 19th century stone mansion, adjoining carriage house and six acres of grounds delight even the most seasoned museum visitor.

From the PA Turnpike, take exit 333 (Norristown). Bear right after tolls. This will put you onto Germantown Pike/Avenue East. Follow Germantown Pike/Avenue for approx. 5 miles. Woodmere is on the left between Hillcrest Avenue and Bells Mill Road (after Chestnut Hill College).

From Northeast Extension of PA Turnpike, take exit 25-1. This will direct you to Exit 333 of PA turnpike. Bear right after tolls. This will put you onto Germantown Pike/Avenue. Follow Germantown Pike/Avenue East for approx. 5 miles. Woodmere is on Germantown Avenue on the left between Hillcrest Avenue and Bells Mill Road (after Chestnut Hill College).

From the New Jersey Turnpike, take exit 6 of the NJ turnpike to the PA turnpike. Follow PA turnpike West and take exit 333 (Norristown). Bear right after tolls. This will put you onto Germantown Pike/Avenue. Follow Germantown Pike/Avenue East for approx. 5 miles. Woodmere is on Germantown Avenue on the left between Hillcrest Avenue and Bells Mill Road (after Chestnut Hill College).

From New Jersey, use Walt Whitman Bridge to the Schuylkill Expressway West to Lincoln Drive exit. Follow Lincoln Drive to Allens Lane. Turn right onto Allens Lane and travel to Germantown Avenue (light). Turn left onto Germantown Avenue. Go approx. 2 miles through Chestnut Hill and past hospital. Woodmere is on right at Bells Mill Road, the driveway on Germantown Ave., past the light.

By train: From 30th Street Station, Center City Philadelphia, take the R8 Chestnut Hill West train to the end of the line. This leaves you on Germantown Avenue. Go left down a hill for 1 mile to Woodmere.
