About Woodmere’s Studio Program:
Woodmere Art Museum offers a variety of art classes for all ages and skill levels. Our studio programs provide fun and engaging art experiences that encourage people of all abilities to celebrate traditional and contemporary ideas of art-making. Classes and workshops are offered year-round in areas such as painting, drawing, collage, poetry and literature, art and music, and photography. Classes for children and teens provide fun and unique art-making, and include printmaking, painting, batik on fabric, animation, sculpture, and bookmaking. With painters and artists in mind, the George D. Widener Studio is a professional setting with ample north light, easy access, and plenty of free parking. All classes are taught by talented groups of professional artists that live and work in the Philadelphia area.
How to Register:
In Person at the Visitor Services Desk at the main entrance of the Museum.
By Mail: Mail your completed registration form (posted online) and payment to:Education Department, Woodmere Art Museum, 9201 Germantown Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19118. Download registration form
Woodmere members receive discounts on all classes and workshops. Does not include a discount on materials unless noted otherwise in the course description.
Cancellations must be made prior to a week before the starting date of the class.
A $35 processing fee will be issued for cancellations up to one week prior to the class starting date.
Cancellations on or after the first class will be charged 20% of tuition plus $35 processing fee.
No refunds after the second class.
The Museum reserves the right to cancel classes due to insufficient enrollment. In the event of a cancellation, students will be notified and no charges will be made.
Scholarships for students in grades K-12 are available based on financial need. Contact the education department at 215-247-0948 to apply.
Woodmere reserves the right to use photos taken during classes and other programs. Registration in a class gives Woodmere permission to use that image without further consent.
Transportation and Parking
Parking for studio classes is FREE and available in the Museum’s main lot or in the lot in front of the George D. Widener Studio building. Students may drop off and pick up supplies at the entrance to the studio before and after class. Woodmere is also located near SEPTA train stations and bus stops.
