Teacher Workshop | Henry Bermudez in Philadelphia - An Immigrant's Journey in America
Saturday, April 27 | 10 am - 1 pm
3 PA Act 48 Hours
$20/teacher

Artists employ their special skills to express ideas and reflect views on society – a need we all share as social beings. This workshop will explore the art of Henry Bermudez, a Venezuelan-born artist who creates visually stunning works that represent his journey rebuilding a life in America. Bermudez’s art addresses immigration issues and expresses his reverence for the mythological deities and natural world of Latin America.

A focus will be made on Bermudez’s paintings with political statements and how artworks can be utilized as tools for developing critical thinking through historical and multi-cultural contexts.

Teaching materials will be distributed for classroom use.
