Cafés for Care Partners, a program of ARTZ Philadelphia, was created specifically for the care partners of people living with dementia. These programs provide engaging, stimulating experiences and relief from the daily grind.

 

On May 3, Philadelphia-based mural and multi-media artist Marta Sanchez shares the joyful Mexican tradition of “cascarones” in this very special Café for Care Partners. Join us in marking the renewal of spring and the lead-up to Mother’s Day!

 

Marta will guide participants in decorating eggshells that she has painstakingly filled with confetti, using everything from paint to markers to glitter and give free rein to your creativity. In addition to spending some lighthearted time in the company of other care partners, you will go home with the egg(s) you have decorated and, if you choose, participate in the playful tradition of gently cracking the eggshells over the heads of those you love, bringing them good luck as the confetti spills out from the eggshells.
