Description & Inscriptions

From 1927 through 1929, Oakley and Emerson attended the meetings of the League of Nations in Geneva and made several trips to Florence, living there for several months at a time. In Florence, from October 1928 through July 1929, they were visited by their friend, American violinist Albert Spalding, who was a favored soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra.
