Description & Inscriptions

Jacob Glick (1926-1999) was an acclaimed violist and teacher, who performed in orchestra and chamber groups around the world. Born in Philadelphia, Glick began studying the viola at the New School of Music in Philadelphia and continued at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore. In addition to this classical training and teaching of the viola, violin, and chamber music, Glick performed avant-garde music and once rummaged his tool box to fashion a musical saw in order to perform with Yoko Ono in the early 1960s. This study likely is part of a possible series of drawings documenting "Mrs. Bok's orchestra, Camden, Maine."
