A Genevan physician, Henri Revilliod was also an early advocate for Switzerland's support of a European union for world peace in 1939–40. His wife, Olga Masaryk, was the daughter of Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk, the first president of Czechoslovakia and the subject of several portraits by Oakley.
