Description & Inscriptions

From 1927 through 1929, Oakley and Edith Emerson attended the meetings of the League of Nations in Geneva and made several trips to Florence, living there for several months at a time. In Florence, from October 1928 through July 1929, they were visited by their friend, American violinist Albert Spalding, who was a favored soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra.
