Description & Inscriptions

[framing top image in ink]: The ship in the midst of / The sea tossed with the waves / and Jesus went to them / walking on the sea; [framing center image in ink]" Cast the net on the / right side of the ship and ye / shall find - and now / they were not able to draw / it for the multitude of fishes; [framing bottom image in ink]: As soon as they were / come to land they saw a fire / of coals and fish had / thereon & bread -- come and / dine; [lower right in red ink]: stamped signature
These are studies for three right hand depictions. "Christ Stilling the Storm" is also known as "Christ Stilling the Waves" and "Christ and the Sea."
