Visit the Barbara Crawford Gallery at SCH Academy and explore the current exhibition and learn how two artists, Sam Feinstein and Barbara Crawford, inspired each other throughout their lives. Look at and discuss the work Boats and Harbor for inspiration and discuss some of the qualities that make it a great work of art. Composition, line, shape, and color are some of these elements. Sketch from a still life based on their paintings in the gallery. This energetic workshop will allow young artists to link reality and abstraction through geometry and discover the joy of “letting go”. Our instructors will encourage them to experiment with drawing what they see without the pressure to make a boat look like a boat! Materials will include charcoal, pencil and pastels.
