FREE DIGITAL GUIDE 

Woodmere is delighted to become a partner with Bloomberg Connects, joining a global community of over 1000 cultural partners offering enhanced experiences for users on-site and off through the Bloomberg Connects app. Explore Woodmere with this FREE digital guide, accessible online or on the Bloomberg Connects app, taking you behind the scenes with expert commentary, exclusive multimedia perspectives from artists and curators, engaging audio content, accessibility features, and interactive maps.

On-site, Bloomberg Connects turns a user’s mobile phone into a touchless experience and a centralized place for important information. Offsite, it allows users to explore institutions from anywhere, providing access to collections, curators, artists, and artwork. Bloomberg Connects is available in over 40 languages through Google Translate.

ARTWORK SPOTLIGHT: A CLOSER LOOK

Take a closer look at a specific artwork in an engaging Spotlight program designed for curious visitors of all backgrounds. Through guided discussion, participants are invited to observe, ask questions, consider multiple perspectives, and uncover layer of meaning together. No prior art knowledge is required. Just bring your curiosity and a willingness to look closely.

FREE with Admission

Enjoy focusing on paintings by Arthur B. Carles, (1882-1951), best known for his daring use of color and his influence on the development of modernism and abstract painting in Philadelphia. He was an instructor at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) and introduced his students to the work and ideas of the European artists such as Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Georges Braque and others. This program will be led by Woodmere docent, Sharon Reiss.

ADULT TOURS

Schedule a tour for your group of seven or more with Woodmere docents. Advance reservations are required. There is a flat fee of $35 per docent (up to fifteen adults per docent at Smith Hall, and up to ten adults per docent at maguire Hall) in addition to admission. CHILDREN'S TOURS

Woodmere’s programs introduce children to the world of art, art appreciation, and art making. Our in-person and online programs include: Animals in Art, Art & Storytelling, Jump for the Sun (a color adventure), a Museum Treasure Hunt, Art & Poetry, and Woodmere's Outdoor Wonder. THE ART OF LOOKING
 
Presented by Flo Gelo, Medical humanities educator, psychotherapist, and Hildy Tow, the Robert L. McNeil, Jr. Curator of Education, Woodmere Art Museum; The Art of Looking is a program that will deepen your ability to engage with art. By focusing on one artwork at a time, the program is designed to increase a viewer’s ability to observe, to engage in self-reflection enabling thoughts and feelings to evolve over time, and to promote conversation and multiple viewpoints with other participants. This program invites you to enjoy and develop relationships with works of art that nurture you more deeply.
