Artmaking and Storytelling
Artmaking will be inspired by stories of civil rights. Celebrate Dr. King’s legendary “I Have A Dream” speech with Caldecott medalist Jerry Pinkney’s newest publication, A Place to Land: Martin Luther King, Jr. and a Speech That Changed a Nation. Woodmere is delighted to have Jerry Pinkney joining the festivities of the day.

Concert: Music of the Civil Rights Movement Musicians: Arpeggio Jazz Ensemble
The Arpeggio Jazz Ensemble celebrates the legacy of Dr. King and other civil rights activists with a concert and sing-along of music from the civil rights era, including “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” “A Change Is Gonna Come,” “Down by the Riverside,” “We Shall Overcome,” and more.
