She is currently working on His Jewels in the Forest, a sequel to In the Forest of your Remembrance.
In 1957, Gloria Jean and Jerry met at a Valentine’s Day dance at Dobbins Vocational Technical High School in Philadelphia, where both were students. They were married in 1960 and moved to Boston, MA where Jerry started his career. In 1970, they moved to Croton-on-the-Hudson, NY.
Jerry often credited their creative partnership as an essential part of his success. Playing a vital role in the illustration process, Gloria hired models for his children’s books, assembled costumes, photographed sets, and assisted with research. Together, they built a life and body of work defined by creativity, love, and shared vision. Gloria and Jerry have four children and nine grandchildren, all with careers in the arts. They also have three great grandchildren.
Gloria is an associate minister at the Antioch Baptist Church in Bedford Hills, NY and ministers at worship services for different nursing facilities in Croton-on-the-Hudson and Ossining, NY.
