The artists in Africa in Philadelphia were deeply inspired by textiles and forms of expression of the African continent. Join Jefferson University textile and costume curator Jade Papa for a presentation on the extensive collection of African textiles at the University. She will discuss the functionality and cultural significance of these textiles combined with a show-and-tell of the tools used to create them.

  • Due to excessive heat warnings, Saturday Night Jazz on June 22, Tribute to Wilson Pickett and Otis Redding: Memphis Soul, will be held INDOORS. Seating will be provided by the Museum. No refreshments are permitted inside the building.
