Born into an illustrious Philadelphia family of politicians, bankers, and lawyers, artist George Biddle distanced himself from his relatives and the society he felt they represented. This talk sketches out 300 years of Biddle history and profiles some of the family’s more unique characters, suggesting that George had more in common with them than he wanted to admit.
