Enjoy an evening of unique and intimate musical experiences. In this program, Variant 6 sings madrigals in a kaleidoscope of texts and sounds: medieval prayers set by Benjamin Britten, a Dowland song deconstructed by Pelle Gudmundsen-Holmgreen, traditional Berber chants arranged by Edith Canat de Chizy, and a set of madrigals in the exuberant and inventive musical style of Paul Hindemith. This sole a cappella show of Variant 6 explores how text and music can intertwine in strange and beautiful ways.

Variant 6 explores the expressive potential of the human voice through vocal chamber music that is at once virtuosic, poignant, and approachable. The group is composed of artists with a diverse set of skills and a wide range of expertise who seek out repertoire that embodies this potential. They collaborate with artists of many disciplines, creating refreshing interpretations of music of the past and innovative premieres of new works.
