Tempesta di Mare: Telemanns’ Solo Fantasias

Philadelphia Baroque Orchestra Tempesta di Mare’s principal players, Gwyn Roberts, (flute), Emlyn Ngai (violin), and Lisa Terry, (viola da gamba), perform from Georg Philipp Telemann’s Solo Fantasias for flute, violin, and viola da gamba. Telemann’s musical imagination and inventiveness in each fantasia is astonishing, at times depicting moods of joy, brilliance, passion, pride, seriousness, coldness, serenity, tenderness, and charm as well as rustic and courtly dancing. Musicians will perform from multiple places within Woodmere’s grand rotunda gallery allowing the music and artwork to engage with one other from unexpected viewpoints.
