Woodmere’s annual juried exhibition highlights contemporary work in a wide variety of media by artists living within fifty miles of the Museum. The exhibition focuses on the ways artists consider the theme of “the condition of place.” This year’s juror is Odili Donald Odita (born 1966), an abstract painter whose work explores color in both an historical context and a sociopolitical sense. Odita is currently a professor of painting at Temple University’s Tyler School of Art. His work will be displayed in a concurrent exhibition with selections from the Museum’s permanent collection that relate to the theme of the juried show.
