This workshop demonstrates the endless possibilities and unique qualities of the monotype process, which is a method for making one-of- a-kind images that combines painting, drawing, and printmaking techniques. Learn why Harry Bertoia appreciated the spontaneity and freedom of monotypes to explore and experiment with a range of images and materials. Students learn to develop a painting on a flat plate in a variety of media, and then transfer it to paper or another absorbent surface.
