About the Exhibition
Woodmere is pleased to present Radiant Galaxies, an exhibition of five studio artists from the Center for Creative Works, who boldly explore abstraction through color, texture, and mark-making in fresh, dynamic ways.
Radiant Galaxies brings together five dynamic and inventive artists working in weaving, painting, drawing, tufting, and needlepoint. Ania Lattie creates vibrating, tufted textile works that are made with collections of tiny pieces of yarn. Karlee Salamone’s large-scale canvases pull the viewer into bold compositional spaces full of playful shapes and shadows. Threads dip in and out of Faith Olumbe’s compelling works on unstretched canvas, evoking the movement and motion of people and urban spaces. In her playful, imaginative drawings and paintings, Lisa Kelley brings together groups of cats, trolls, and flowers in idyllic, busy fields of color. Kelly Brown makes her weavings entirely through touch, incorporating a range of materials into cohesive yet highly unexpected pieces.
Enjoy the sights and sensations in Radiant Galaxies.
