Renewal: Abington Friends Upper School
About the Exhibition
At Abington Friends School (AFS), students’ artworks build bridges across communities and disciplines. This exhibition demonstrates the emphasis of the AFS visual art program on personal voice, experimentation, collaboration, and process. Students are challenged to relish the risk-taking and playfulness that art-making experiences offer and create images that convey authenticity and self-expression.
In the Advanced Art and Photo 4 classes, students devise thesis projects as bodies of work that connect through cohesive conceptual and formal concerns. A rhythm of collaboration, independent work, and critical reflection promotes growth and depth in each student’s portfolio.
Abington Friends School is a Quaker school for preschool through high school located in Jenkintown, PA. The visual art program of the Upper School encourages young artists’ curiosity, technical ability, and sense of community to enrich their development as creative thinkers.
