About the Exhibition

Syd carpenter, juror

Woodmere’s annual juried exhibition highlights contemporary work in a wide variety of media by artists living within fifty miles of the Museum. 2018's juror was Syd Carpenter, a sculptor and professor of studio art at Swarthmore College who invited artists and craftspeople to submit work in all media that reference the land, the transience of the body, and the skill of the maker. The exhibition included work curated from the museum’s collection as well as work by Carpenter.

The exhibition featured works in a wide variety of media from artists living within 50 miles of the Museum.

The exhibition was accompanied by an illustrated digital catalogue, linked at the bottom of this page, and has been featured in the latest episode of Woodmere's podcast, Diving Board. To subscribe and listen, click here.
