Vera and her husband, Samuel S. White, 3rd, amassed a noted collection of works by mod-ern French painters that, at her death, was be¬queathed to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Included in their collection were works by Con¬stantin Brancusi, Georges Braque, Henri Matisse, Jules Pascin, Pablo Picasso, Georges Rouault, and others. Also in the collection was a large portrait of Mrs. White by Arthur B. Carles, commissioned by the Whites in 1922, and a bronze figure of Mr. White by Auguste Rodin.
