Susan Lowry
Lowry creates painted assemblages of tin and carved wood, often utilizing the printed patterns of found tin. Prior to studying painting at the Philadelphia College of Art (now the University of the Arts), Lowry created small-scale metal work using jeweler's tools. Her hybrid relief paintings combine her metal working and painting skills. Lowry obtained her bachelor of fine arts degree from the Philadelphia College of Art and a bachelor of arts from Hamilton College in New York. She is the head of the art department at Germantown Friends School and her work has been exhibited at Fleisher/Ollman Gallery, both of Philadelphia.
