Date

Medium

Gift of the Michael Biddle Family, 2023
Dimensions
10 x 14 in.

Biddle often depicted the fate of animals to express the agony and consequences of current events. In this print, the prairie fires or dust storms of the Dust Bowl have destroyed a farm. The skeletons of animals are all that remain of a once prosperous farm. A dead bull is an icon of lost strength and prosperity.
