Giovanni Martino, Jefferson Street (W. Manayunk, Philadelphia)
Jefferson Street presents a remarkably tender application of light to a quaint house on an ordinary stretch of road which arches off over the horizon. Warmth is found in the soft use of colors throughout the work.

This painting is of Jefferson Street which is now in the town called Belmont Hills. Formally called West Manayunk. The big red and white house was built in the late 1800's by my Great Great Grandfather William Robinson who was an Irish Immigrant. For his wife and 9 children. It still currently stands. Years later my Aunt Mary Robinson VanderVeur lived there not knowing that her ancestor built the home till years later.
