Anthony Martino here presents a powerfully brushed oil painting of the railroad bridge in the Manayunk district of Philadelphia, a tempting view for many local artists. An otherwise gloomy scene of the landscape in winter is brought to life through rich golden browns and reds scattered throughout the piece.

This work was awarded a long list of prizes, including a bronze medal at the Sesqui - Centennial in Philadelphia, the first Altman Prize from the National Academy and several more from the Salmagundi Club in New York.
