Santore worked for TV Guide from 1972-85, creating numerous iconic covers. In the 1970's, at the height of its circulation TV Guide Magazine had 20 million subscribers.  The distinctive stylization of his portraits of television characters contributed to the aesthetic of an era. This cover was created for the August 9-15, 1980 issue and featured cartoons and puppets from some beloved children's shows such as Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids, The Flintstones, Sesame Street, and The Muppets.
