Sherriff Lobo was an action and adventure comedy centered on Sherriff Lobo, played by Claude Akins (1926–1994). Lobo might have been the main enforcer of the law in Orly County, Georgia, but he often offended the law because he liked to wheel-and-deal for fast cash. Lobo’s team was rounded out by Deputy Perkins (Mills Watson, born 1940), the sheriff’s partner in crime, and Deputy Birdwell “Birdie” Hawkins (Brian Kerwin, born 1949).

The series took an unsuccessful new direction in its second season, which ultimately led to its cancellation. In its 2002 issue, TV Guide ranked Sherriff Lobo number 3 on its 50 Worst TV Shows of All Time.
