21 7/8" x 37 3/8"This work presents snow-covered hills and a valley with leafless feathery trees. Houses sit upon the left slope and right of center. A road runs through the foreground, snow covered, with an arched stone culvert found below. The wintery landscape is of Trevose, just northeast of Philadelphia, where Arthur Meltzer lived in 1927. Intentionally exaggerated hills alter the natural topography, which serves to condense the viewer’s perspective in the style of folk art.
