30 1/2 x 36 in.Piper uses white to create an atmosphere in which patches of brilliant color rise to suggest moving air and light. The artist routinely made changes and adjustments to her works, in order to find the exact right shape and the perfect color. In the early 1960s, Piper returned to basing her compositions on complex still lifes, her signature compositions always unified by the use of white.
