30 x 22 1/2 in.Lewis and Dennis Dunwoody became friendly after meeting in the hair salon of their mutual friend, Victor DiMezza. Dunwoody owned a vintage clothing store on Pine Street and was famous for wearing high heels. A gay man, he came to Philadelphia from the South, as Lewis had, and was known for his wicked sense of humor.
Lewis painted Dunwoody several times, capturing different details of his thin physique and conveying his witty personality.
