Osborne portrays a young girl sitting in an undefined space. A sense of pathos emanates from the girl, whose ghost-like image is suggested in the misty atmosphere to her side. This work reflects an earlier period when Osborne's drawing and painting was largely representational and figurative. Her work gradually evolved into abstraction.

Osborne has exhibited throughout the United States. She is the third woman to be hired as an instructor at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts
