Adam Waterbear DePaul and Teri Hislop
Adam DePaul is a Tribal Council Member of the Lenape Nation of Pennsylvania, where he also holds the positions of Storykeeper, Director of Education, and Coordinator of the Rising Nation River Journey. He co-curates the Lenape Cultural Center in Easton PA and has curated Existing Artistry, Enduring Presence: The Lenape Nation of Pennsylvania at Temple University and Enduring Presence: Lenape Nation of Pennsylvania Art at Haverford College. DePaul is a PhD candidate and instructor at Temple with a primary research area in Cultural and Mythological Studies, and the co-founder and president of NAISAT (Native American and Indigenous Studies at Temple). He has recently been appointed Scholar-in-Residence at Arcadia University, where he currently teaches classes in Indigenous Studies, World Mythology, and Punk Rock.
Teri Hislop, (Lenape name, Xeli Otaesak Pilsit Xkwe meaning “Many Flowers Pure Spirit Woman”) also known as "Uma" Teri, is a tribal member of the Lenape Nation of Pennsylvania. She is Keeper of Traditional Craft and an instructor of the Lenape language. Uma Teri tells stories through her illustrative beadwork and other traditional crafts such as pine needle basketry, porcupine quillwork on birchbark, and the making of regalia.
