Hal Rubin:Untitled
Hello, Itzhak Sankowsky and his wife Sue were our neighbors directly across the street on Upland Road in Merion, PA, which is just outside the city of Philadelphia. This was about 1983 to 1990. He was a delightful man, always with a sparkle in his eyes and smile on his lips. Sue was a bright and lovely woman. Just before we left Philadelphia, he gave us a number of his original lithographs, including this mother and child woodcut, printed on silver foil. Others included Sampson and Delilah, King David, and representations of the Holocaust. He was had been a refugee who fled Romania with his family before the Nazis came. May his memory be for a blessing.
