Linda Huebenthal Woolston:Rising Mist
This painting was done before I met Farris. I became her daughter-in-law. Farris had a gift for remembering landscapes she witnessed and then turning them into painted renditions, often with a surreal overlay or special use of a painting technique. I own an example: a visit to Creisham Valley in the Wissahickon resulted in a very abstract view of a rock wall, probably the swimming hole. She developed several styles as she matured, moving between still lifes and landscapes. She painted until the day she died.
